But each challenge seems to be a relatively unrelated way for the author both to lengthen the book and delay the final confrontation. Devin Eveson is a Soulkeeper, travelling through remote villages as a preacher and healer.

She is so badass. From British debut author Tasha Suri, Empire of Sand is a lush and beautiful tale set in a magical world inspired by medieval India. But back to our dear Naomi. It had the potential to become a very angsty story, which I thought would have really ruined Jessica as a character for me, but this wasn’t the case at all.

Trivia About Hot Blooded Jess Knowing right off the bat that a heroine can never be defeated, as this installment shows being a possibility, makes me a bit weary for the overall arc of this series.

As she xarlson her powers and abilities, Jessica makes sure that she retains her humanity. Alone at the edge of the world, hope is the only thing they have left. This is fast becoming one of my favorite urban fantasy series.
I must say that the first volume ended on a great event and I only wanted one thing after that: When a killing scene takes too long because everybody is too damn busy with talking you can guess how irritating this might become. All of it in the modern settings of a UF world.

Why is Roy ever here? Overall, this book was a great read. That said, I enjoyed Hot Blooded more as a whole. Plus throw in Ray, the human cop that would like nothing more than to see Jessica in jail.

Add in the fact that she is the only Initial thoughts: Jessica is going to Hell. I don’t have too much to complain about but the major thing I must bitch about is not enough Rourke! Carlson is consistent with providing an amazingly elaborate world building and well developed characters.
Full Blooded carllson her first novel. I only wished there was more time together in this book! Picture this motley crew on a journey Lord of the Rings style with Rourke being “my precious”.
Excellent second installment in the Jessica McClain series!! I also feel the world building is convoluted and a little half ass.
