In the icy, monster-plagued world of the Frost, compassion might get a person killed, and Lia Weaver knows this better than anyone. Will she sacrifice everything for this stranger and love or will she turn him in and move on? The story is a quick, easy read and the characters seem nice enough. The villagers are helpless against the Watchers, and their only recourse is to take refuge indoors after dark. Most of the community lives in a safe little town while a few live outside the town those are farmers.

But time is running out. Gradually she kept being bolder and braver, and that showed how fast she was growing up into a wonderful woman – emotionally and mentally. It had romance, mystery, fantasy, and a afery developed world considering the length of this book. Her family has no one but her.

The Frost Chronicles Series

Lia’s family, as their surname indicates, produces the town’s yarn. The descriptions are as vivid as one could possibly wish. It was great to have a strong young female protagonist and I really felt for her. But Lia is startled to find that Ellisob is empathetic and intelligent…and handsome.

I can’t wait for book 2 and seriously, stop reading reviews and just go read it!!! After the monsters kill her parents, she must keep the family farm running or risk losing her siblings to reassignment by the village Elders. Since this was often referred to in the story, I just couldn’t get past it.

Thorns (Frost Chronicles, book 2) by Kate Avery Ellison

Some of these characters don’t even look like they could kill people! And in the middle of ellisoj all, Lia, a main heroine that is nothing like the ones we’re used to!

So why the three and half stars? Add in Lia’s village, clinging to survival, apart from but threatened by the Farthers from the south, and all of it’s awesome setup for a fast-paced, unputdownable story about helping an outsider escape from oppression to freedom and the price that must be paid. And you can play it for FREE! He is a Farther after all, evil and ruthless.

The romance is trost but not dominating. Atmospheric with a unique story-line full of intrigue and blossoming romance.

Short, but very well thought out.

The characters were awesome and believable, I only wanted to know them more and read more about them. I stepped to his side, crouching down to touch his face. This is one of those books.

I’ve only read two books by Kate Ellison and she is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. The romance was one of those things I knew was coming and am happy with the way it was handled. Other than these things i loved every single thing about it!

Our main character’s family are the Ellisln. But even when I was part of the you Sometimes, everything is in the details Her writing is so beautiful and the way she puts twists in her story! Books by Kate Avery Ellison.

What brings this review down to a single star is, unfortunately, the details. Want to Read Currently Reading Read.
