I mean no disrespect and still I’m at a loss: If you …more Because Kundera himself has always wanted to be an author with world-wide impact and thanks to Unbearable Ligthness of Being, he became one.
Probably because his texts are much more bound to the Czech language and therefore more difficult to translate.
And I would personally say that Kundera is much more easy to read and understand. See 2 questions about Una soledad demasiado ruidosa…. Lists with This Book. This book is not yet featured on Listopia.

I kept trudging through, hoping ruidoa was going to be some point where the the plot demasjado characters would come to life, but I was left unfulfilled. Maybe I just didn’t read it with the right eyes. It’s just a messy pointless something I couldn’t figure out what it actually was and I know it’s only pages but it felt like pages that at page 90 I started skipping it as life is too short for this kind of things I mean after all we’re all trapped in our minds with better ideas actually than this yet you don’t find us running around publishing such things though.
Nikad nisam bio ovako uznemiren jednim djelom. Nikako nije moj kap of ti. View all 5 comments. I’d read other works by Hrabal and enjoyed them very much.
Una Soledad Demasiado Ruidosa (English, Spanish, Paperback)
While this book had its moments, there certainly weren’t very many of them. Its 98 pages long! I feel robbed by the publisher. The writing in this book is too “frilly” for me. Hrabal is so descriptive that the sentences drag on and on.
I prefer authors who get to the point. The main character is a man who has worked for 35 years compacting wastepaper in his press. The descriptions of his life in the cellar are interesting, but started to get redundant. His career trajectory takes a turn for the worse and he’s ill-equipped to handle any sort of change in his routine.

Una soledad demasiado ruidosa by Bohumil Hrabal (1 star ratings)
Definitely not a page turner in the traditional sense of the word. Instead, this book rewards you with moments of pure beauty — occasional, simple passages and anecdotes that are just painfully beautiful, insightful and sopedad. Those moments, sprinkled throughout the book, make it well worth the read. How can reading – many of the same books – turn one person perspective to such vulgarity and another’s to such beauty?
This ruiidosa just a dreary story of a dreary life with a dreary and depressing perspective gleaned from reading. I finished it only because it was very short. I am currently exploraning Czech literature so I am trying to read two translations of each book. I didn’t understand most of the Arabic book as it was very confusing. Ventottesimo Gdl – Una solitudine troppo rumorosa 22 37 May 17, Hrabal received a Law degree from Prague’s Charles University, and lived in the city from the late s on.
He died when he fell from a fifth floor hospital where he was apparently trying to feed pigeons. It was noted that Hrabal lived on the fifth floor of his apartment building and that suicides by leaping from a fifth-floor window were mentioned in several of his books.
Many of Hrabal’s characters are portrayed as “wise fools” – simpletons with occasional or inadvertent profound thoughts – who are also given to coarse humour, lewdness, and a determination to survive and enjoy oneself despite harsh rjidosa. Political quandaries and their concomitant moral ambiguities are also a recurrent theme. His works have been translated into 27 languages.
